Julie Adams was an American actress.

She began her film career in B movie westerns in the late 1940s, and was perhaps best known as the damsel in distress in the 1954 cult classic Creature From the Black Lagoon.

Throughout her career, Adams appeared with some of Hollywood’s top leading men, including James Stewart, Rock Hudson, Glenn Ford, Tyrone Power, Tony Curtis, and Charlton Heston.

Adams’s television appearances included roles on episodes of Maverick, The Rifleman, Bonanza, The Andy Griffith Show, Perry Mason, The Big Valley, Ironside, General Hospital, Mod Squad, Mannix, The Streets of San Francisco, Marcus Welby, M.D., McMillan & Wife, Police Woman, The Incredible Hulk, Trapper John, M.D., Vega$, Quincy M.E., Murder, She Wrote, Melrose Place, Lost, and Cold Case. Her final appearance on television was on a 2007 episode of CSI: NY.

Adams died February 3, 2019, in Los Angeles, California. She was 92.
