In addition to the screen and stage icon's many credits–Jane Eyre, Quantum of Solace, Notes On A Scandal, Shakespeare in Love (as "Queen Elizabeth I"), Mrs. Henderson Presents and more–Dench was appointed to the Order of the British Empire in 1970 and promoted to Dame Commander in 1988.
