About

Emmy nominated Alexis Denisof is one of pop culture’s most versatile and beloved actors. He is perhaps best known to audiences as Wesley Wyndam-Pryce on the series Angel, a character he created for season three of Buffy The Vampire Slayer and portrayed for over 100 episodes. Denisof is a recognizable member of the "Whedonverse," he also starred in Joss Whedon’s acclaimed adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic comedy Much Ado About Nothing, the blockbuster The Avengers and Guardians of The Galaxy as the mysterious villain The Other, as well as Whedon’s DollHouse. Among his many roles he portrayed the recurring Prince Viktor in NBC’s Grimm for two seasons, was the duplicitous father in the cult MTV series Finding Carter for three seasons, appeared in Bryan Singer’s H+ on YouTube and is still remembered for the recurring hilarious news anchor Sandy Rivers on CBS’s How I Met Your Mother.

Born in Maryland and schooled on the Northwest (Seattle) and East (New Hampshire), Denisof trained at The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, and began his career as a member of the prestigious Royal Shakespeare Company in Mark Rylance’s Hamlet. Denisof went on to appear in many productions in London’s West End (Cyrano, Tovarich, A Tale of Two Cities, Bent) as well multiple productions at The Chichester Festival Theater and Liverpool Playhouse, before moving to America where he landed his first role in NBC’s Noah’s Ark starring Jon Voight and Mary Steenburgen. Though he credits his first paying job after drama school as the George Harrison music video "Got My Mind Set On You."
