SAG Awards Add HBO Max and Curtis Stone to the Mix

The annual celebration of screen acting adds two new firsts with next-day streaming and a custom menu from the prolific Michelin-starred chef.

This year, the SAG Awards marks two milestones — it will be available to more viewers than ever via acccesibility on HBO Max and chef Curtis Stone will oversee the menu.

The 28th annual celebration of the best in screen performances will be telecast live on Sunday, February 27, at 5:00 p.m. (PT) / 8:00 p.m. (ET).

Once again, the ceremony will be telecast on TNT — as it has been since 1998 — and simulcast on TBS — as it has been since 2007.

In addition, for the first time, the awards show will be available for viewing the following day on the streaming platform HBO Max.

In another first, the SAG Awards are expanding the food offerings for attendees courtesy of Curtis Stone — the Michelin-starred chef, restaurateur, author and culinary entrepreneur, who will serve as the executive chef and oversee the menu for this year's festivities, which will be held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.

Stone has been an innovative figure in the culinary arts since he began his career in his hometown of Melbourne, Australia, at age 18. In 2014, after training in Europe, he relocated to the United States and opened his first solo restaurant, Maude, in Beverly Hills, followed two years later by Gwen Butcher Shop & Restaurant in Hollywood. In 2019, along with his brother, Luke Stone, he launched another restaurant, Georgie, in Dallas, Texas.

Along the way, he established a successful events and catering business and became one of the most visible chefs on television through appearances on such programs as Take Home Chef, Top Chef Masters, Top Chef Junior, Field Trip with Curtis Stone and Crime Scene Kitchen. He is also the author of six cookbooks, the most recent of which, Good Food, Good Life, includes more than 100 recipes for contemporary versions of classic dishes.
