Jeffrey Pollack was a producer, director and writer known for his work on the television series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and such feature films as Booty Call and Above the Rim.

A graduate of USC's film school, Pollack partnered with his friend and business partner Benny Medina, with whom he formed Medina/Pollack Entertainment, a management and production company that later became Handprint Entertainment. Their clients included Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey and Tyra Banks. Handprint closed in 2008.

With Medina, Pollack helped to create The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, which was inspired by Medina’s experiences living with Motown Records founder Berry Gordy Jr. while attending Beverly Hills High School. The show, which starred Will Smith, aired from 1990 to 1996 on NBC.

He went on to direct the feature films — Above the Rim, Booty Call and Lost & Found.

Pollack died December 23, 2013, in Hermosa Beach, California. He was 54.
