About

Dan Bucatinsky wrote, produced, and starred in indie romantic comedy All Over the Guy (Lionsgate). In 2003 he and partner Lisa Kudrow founded Is Or Isn't Entertainment, which produced the cult, Emmy-nominated HBO comedy The Comeback co-starring Bucatinsky as publicist, Billy Stanton. Their acclaimed docu-series Who Do You Think You Are? received an Emmy nomination for Best Reality Series during their third season for NBC and launches its 4th season for TLC this July. In 2010 the company produced the original online web series "Web Therapy", in which Bucatinsky also stars. The web series most recently garnered a 2012 Emmy Award nomination, and has won back-to-back Webby Awards in 2010 and 2011 for "Best Comedy Series" and "Best Individual Performance" for Lisa Kudrow. The series has just completed launching its 3rd critically acclaimed season in its groundbreaking half-hour format for Showtime, July 23rd, 2013.

Bucatinsky became a best-selling author when his autobiographical tales of parenthood, "Does This Baby Make Me Look Straight?" published by Touchstone Books (a division of Simon & Schuster), arrived in bookstores June, 2012. He is a regular contributor to Huffington Post and has recently been honored by the American Fertility Association with an Advocacy Award for his vocal support of adoption and family equality.
As a writer/producer Bucatinsky is a Consulting Producer on the tenth season of Grey's Anatomy and has also Co-Executive Produced the NBC dramedy Lipstick Jungle.

As an actor, Dan plays JAMES on the hit Shonda Rhimes series, Scandal. Television audiences will also remember him from Grey's Anatomy, In Plain Sight, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Weeds. Film roles include I Love Your Work, Under the Tuscan Sun, as well as Bounce and The Opposite of Sex, both directed by his husband, Web Therapy co-creator/director, Don Roos. Bucatinsky and Roos live with their two kids in California.
