'Lessons in Chemistry' Cast Members Among Speakers for College Television Summit  April 4

The Television Academy Foundation today announced registration is open for its annual College Television Summit to be held Thursday, April 4, 10am PT/1pm ET. The event includes speakers from such hit shows as Lessons in Chemistry, Girls State and The Handmaid's Tale and is open to students from two and four year colleges and universities across the country. 

Attendees will also have the chance to participate in virtual Q&A sessions with industry leaders, including Emmy winners, top creatives, business executives and more. To register for the event, visit TelevisionAcademy.com/cts/register.

The Summit will commence with a live conversation with directors/producers Amanda McBaine and Jesse Moss of Apple TV+'s Girls State, moderated by Variety's Senior Artisans Editor Jazz Tangcay. The nonfiction program follows young female leaders — from different backgrounds across Missouri — as they navigate an immersive experiment to build a government from the ground up. 

Then, "Climate Storytelling 101: It's Getting Hot In Here!", presented by NRDC's Rewrite the Future, will offer practical advice for creators interested in telling stories about a climate-altered world featuring a live panel discussion with Daniel Hinerfeld, co-founder and director, NRDC's Rewrite the Future, Meredith Milton, creative director, NRDC's Rewrite the Future and producer Dorothy Fortenberry (The Handmaid's Tale,Extrapolations).

The online event continues with an "Ask Me Anything" session with Jamila Hunter, President of Macro Television Studios; as well as "A Showrunner's Path" with Dr. Death's showrunner Ashley Michel Hoban.

The Summit will close with "Script to Screen: Lessons in Chemistry," a panel discussion with cast members and producers from the hit series moderated by Mara Webster, Co-Founder, Head of Programming and Host at In Creative Company.
