Board of Governors

Patrick Cady, ASC, Cinematographers

Patrick Cady "got hooked" working in film as the camera intern on John Sayles' Passion Fish, which was photographed by an up and coming Cinematographer named Roger Deakins.

Eight years later he was singled out as one of Variety's "Ten Cinematographers to Watch", having the great luck of shooting for director Karyn Kusama (and Executive Producer Mr. Sayles) on the Sundance winning Girlfight.

His first television show work was on Cold Case during its breakout first year and since then he has collaborated on both features and television.

He gleefully accepted the invitation to become a member of the ASC and AMPAS in 2011 and was nominated for an Emmy in 2018 for his photography on the HBO hit Insecure.

He is now also a member of the DGA, Directing on Rectify, Bosch, Bosch: Legacy and The Rookie spinoff The Rookie: Feds.
