Bud Hoffman, Picture Editor on Top TV Series

In addition to his TV credits, Hoffman worked with film director Alfred Hitchcock.

William "Bud" Hoffman, a picture editor who worked on feature films with Alfred Hitchcock and on several top television series, died November 2, 2011, in Midwest City, Oklahoma. He was 81.

According to news reports, he had been ill for some time.

A native of San Diego, Hoffman became a film editor for Universal Studios in the early 1960s. He worked for five years with filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock, and was an assistant editor on The Birds. He earned a credit as editor on Torn Curtain.

Later, Hoffman worked in television, earning credits on such series as Captain Fathom, Night Gallery, McCloud and The Sixth Sense.
