NATAS Appoints Bob Mauro as President

Former CBS exec Bob Mauro will oversee the day-to-day operation of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

The New York-based National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) and its Board of Trustees announced the appointment of Bob Mauro as president of the organization.

Mauro formerly served as Vice President of Network Operations for CBS and Executive Vice President/COO for Leo Burnett Worldwide. He most recently was responsible for the broadcast operation of over 40 television, radio and telecommunications clients at the Empire State Realty Trust.

“I couldn’t be more pleased to add such a talented senior executive as Bob Mauro to our organization,” said Chuck Dages, Chairman, NATAS. “Bob’s breadth of experience in various industry positions of responsibility will be instrumental as our organization moves forward in our mission of recognizing excellence across the new landscape which is television.”

Mauro —  the first to serve in the position of president here since the 2009 departure of Frank Radice and six-year tenure of Peter Price from 2002 through 2008 — will oversee the organization’s operation, including sales, promotion, marketing, financial management and planning of the Daytime Emmy Awards, among other Emmy Award programs.

NATAS is a sister organization to the Los Angeles-based Television Academy, which administers the Primetime Emmys.
