Sam Bobrick

Sam Bobrick was an American screenwriter, playwright, author, and lyricist.

Bobrick is best known for creating the television series Saved by the Bell, as well as its several spin-offs.

He also wrote material for shows such as Captain Kangaroo, The Flintstones, The Andy Griffith Show, Gomer Pyle: USMC, Get Smart, Bewitched, The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, The Tim Conway Comedy Hour, and The Paul Lynde Show.

In addition to his television work, Bobrick wrote over 40 stage plays, several songs recorded by a variety of artists, and he produced three satirical record albums for Mad magazine.

Bobrick was nominated for a Primetime Emmy award in 1968 for Outstanding Writing Achievement in Music or Variety for The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour.

Bobrick died October 11, 2019, in Northridge, California. He was 87.
