Ron Thornton was a visual effects producer and supervisor best known for his Emmy Award-winning work on Babylon 5: The Gathering. Thornton won in 1993 for his work on the telefilm (which served as the series pilot), and was nominated for three more Emmys, for his work on Star Trek: Voyager, Superfire and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Thornton also contributed to the series Babylon 5, Undercovers and, most recently, Nashville, as well as Star Trek’s Deep Space Nine and Enterprise.

Additionally, Thornton worked on the films Spaceballs and Star Trek: Nemesis.
