Michael Chapman was an American cinematographer.
The two-time Academy Award nominee was perhaps best known for capturing the images for Taxi Driver (1976), Raging Bull (1980), and The Fugitive (1993).
Chapman was mentored by famed cinematographer Gordon Willis and served as his camera operator on Klute (1971) and The Godfather (1972); he also operated on Steven Spielberg's Jaws (1975).

As a cinematographer, Chapman shot an array of films including Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978), The Last Waltz (1978), The Lost Boys (1987), Scrooged (1988), Ghostbusters II (1989), Kindergarten Cop (1990), Primal Fear (1996), Space Jam (1996), Suspect Zero (2004), and Bridge to Terabithia (2007).
In 1975, Chapman earned a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography for Entertainment Programming for a Special for Death Be Not Proud.
Chapman died September 20, 2020, in Los Angeles, California. He was 84.
