John Falsey was an American television writer and producer.

Falsey began his career in television in 1979 as a story editor for CBS’s The White Shadow, where he met Joshua Brand, who was working on the show as a writer. Brand and Falsey would go on to create the series St. Elsewhere, I’ll Fly Away, A Year in the Life, and Northern Exposure, for which they collectively garnered eleven Primetime Emmy Award nominations, winning three.

Falsey also wrote and produced episodes of Providence, and Amazing Stories.

In November 2017, Falsey was set to serve as an executive producer on a reboot of Northern Exposure, which was being written by Brand for CBS.

Falsey died January 3, 2019, in Iowa City, Iowa. He was 67.
