Fred Armisen is an American actor, writer, director, and producer who is best known for the various characters that he brings to life on Saturday Night Live.
Among his popular SNL personalities are politician Nicholas Fehn, Fericito, his New Jersey alter ego, Liberace, Creepy Italian Guy, Paul Lynde, and David Paterson. Throughout his career, Armisen has appeared on over 200 episodes of the popular late night television show.
Armisen has also held roles such as Ambiance Man, was the voice of Speedy Gonzales on The Looney Tunes Show, and plays a variety of different characters on Portlandia, of which he is the co-creator. His work on the show earned him a 2012 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series.
Armisen has also held many roles on the big screen in films such as Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Easy A, Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny, and Eurotrip. He has guest starred on Modern Family, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, House of Lies, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Simpsons, and 30 Rock.
