Bob Dorian

Bob Dorian was an American actor and television personality.

Dorian’s interest in movies started as a young boy, spending most Saturdays at local movie theaters, where he watched three or more films for ten cents.

Dorian was the original host of "Matinee Classics" on the American Movie Classics cable channel from 1984-2001. He presented more than 10,000 classic films, and regaled viewers with Hollywood history and behind-the-scenes trivia.

Dorian performed as an actor, magician, trapeze artist, musician, and stand-up comedian.

He appeared on stage, radio, television, and in several movies, including two directed by Woody Allen: The Curse of the Jade Scorpion (2001) and Hollywood Ending (2002). He was also active in regional theater productions before retiring to Florida.

Dorian died June 15, 2019. He was 85.
