Barbara Perry was an American actress.
Perry became a performer as a child when she was joined the Metropolitan Opera’s corps de ballet, making her stage debut in a production of Madame Butterfly. She went on to study dance, performing at at the Hollywood Bowl, and at nightclubs across the country.
By the mid-1950s, she had studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, England, and performed in numerous Broadway and off-Broadway shows.
Perry played Pickles, the wife of Buddy Sorrell, Morey Amsterdam’s character on The Dick Van Dyke Show, on two episodes of the show during its first season. Actress Joan Shawlee took over the role for three episodes beginning in 1963.
Perry’s other television work include appearances on episodes of The Twilight Zone, The Fugitive, My Favorite Martian, The Andy Griffith Show, The Lucy Show, Perry Mason, Family Affair, Gomer Pyle: USMC, Bewitched, Adam-12, My Three Sons, St. Elsewhere, Newhart, Dallas, Murder, She Wrote, Murphy Brown, Married… with Children, How I Met Your Mother, and Baskets.
Perry died May 5, 2019, in Los Angeles, California. She was 97.
