Requirements for membership in the Production Executives Peer Group

Please note that requirements (as outlined below) must be met within the four (4) years preceding one's application for membership or membership review. Requirements apply in each instance to the production and/or distribution of nationally exhibited audio-visual works. Credits from self-published programs alone do not qualify for membership in the Television Academy.

Active Status:

Employment in one or more of the following positions for a minimum of (2) years within the last four (4) years at a senior executive level of director (or equivalent) or above with oversight of the production elements of creative content within the context of any and all genres of visual media programming for networks, studios, streaming services, web entertainment and production companies (does not include "show level").

Active Status may include executives who have moved into or hold a director level or above for less than two (2) years after having held lower executive positions for at least two (2) of the past four (4) years.

Categories of employment for this peer group are:

  • Production
  • Production Executive Consultants
  • Business Affairs & Legal (does not include HR or Safety)
  • Clearance, Production Placement & Integration
  • Executive in Charge of Production
  • Production Finance
  • Production Music
  • Production Operations (which has impact on the production of the content/show)
  • Post Production
  • Promotional & Publicity Production
  • Production Technology Executives

Or a qualified body of work relevant to the peer group that warrants a waiver of the above requirements. Body of Work designation has all benefits of Active membership with the exception of running for Peer Group Governor.

Associate Status:

Employment at a Manager level or above for at least two (2) years, or director level and above for less than two (2) years, with oversight of production of creative content within the context of any and all genres of programming for studios, networks, visual media, broadband and production companies (does not include "show level").
