It was a face-off mostly between comedy and drama for the last week of May, as we once again take a look at the noteworthy premieres and finales of the week.

We hunted down the social pages for America’s Got Talent, Outlander, Aquarius, Grace and Frankie, and Louie to examine their Facebook and Twitter engagement. And, with a wide range of content from comedic rivalries to a cop’s quest for one of history’s most notorious serial killers, we were excited to see which of the following got social crowds clicking away:

Some irresistible kids, a dragon and an acrobat on the season premiere of America’s Got Talent
Jamie’s daring rescue on the season finale of Outlander
Two detectives’ crusade to find a missing teen on the series premiere of Aquarius
Two rivals who find themselves in an ironic predicament with their husbands on the Netflix release of Grace and Frankie
Louie dealing with a crude, fart joke-telling roomie on the season finale of Louie

The Social Totals

America’s Got Talent clearly entertained audiences enough to talk about it online, racking up 211.3K likes, comments, shares, retweets and favorites for a 42.7% market share. Second place was awarded to Aquarius, which was hot on the trail of social engagement with 185.9K reactions and a 37.6% market share.

Active Audiences

While America’s sometimes peculiar talent show was able to achieve the highest number of engagements, that was not the end of the competition. We also looked at how involved audiences were with the content from these pages once size is out of the picture. Aquarius clearly collared the most social audience, with 2,268.3 engagements per 1K users, and the highest engagement on both Facebook and Twitter. The rivals Grace and Frankie were runner up, one-upping the remaining shows with 931.9 engagements per 1K users.
