Bob Henry, Producer-Director Noted for Collaboration with Top Musical Artists

Bob Henry, a producer and director of television variety shows, including The Nat King Cole Show and The Flip Wilson Show, died March 18, 2012, in Laguna Beach, California. He was 92.

Over the course of a career spanning 50 years, Henry worked with numerous top musical artists and was known for creating mainstream opportunities for black artists like Cole and Wilson.

He also directed and produced variety shows for such performers as Andy Williams, the Carpenters, Glen Campbell and Barbara Mandrell, and also helmed telecasts of the Emmy and Grammy awards.

Henry was nominated for nine Primetime Emmys and won once, in 1971, for Outstanding Variety Series—Musical, for Flip.
