Variety Special Producer Dwight Hemion Dies

Rectortown, VA – Variety television show and concert producer-director Dwight Hemion, 81, passed at his home in Virginia Monday of renal failure.

The 18-time Emmy winner is highly revered for trailblazing strides in variety
programs, such as the Kennedy Center Honors and the PBS television concert of Phantom star Michael Crawford. Hemion has worked on specials with such entertainers as Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Bette Midler, Elvis Presley and more, gathering 47 Emmy award nominations in all.

Hemion directed the presidential inauguration ceremonies of Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton as well.
