About

Ronald Satlof was an American television director and producer.

Early in his career, he produced and directed an animated short film, Frog Story, that was nominated for an Oscar in 1972.

Among the television shows that Satlof directed: McCloud (for which he received an Emmy Award nomination), Hawaii Five-0, Barnaby Jones, The Dukes of Hazzard, Charlie’s Angels, The A-Team, Hunter, Dynasty, Jake and the Fatman, Silk Stalkings, and Diagnosis: Murder.

When Raymond Burr and Barbara Hale reprised their roles as Perry Mason and Della Street in the 1985 made-for-TV film Perry Mason Returns, Satlof served as director on that film, as well as seven subsequent Perry Mason telefilms.

While in semi-retirement in Florida, Satlof continued to produce and direct films and television shows, and taught cinematography at Eckerd College.

Satlof died July 2, 2018, in St. Petersburg, Florida. He was 79.
