Alan O’Neill was an Irish actor.

O’Neill recurred as Hugh, the right-hand man of gunrunner Connor Malone (played by Scott Anderson) in the sixth and seventh seasons of Sons of Anarchy. O’Neill’s character played a key role in the final episode of the series.

O’Neill also played the regular role of Keith McGrath in the long-running Irish soap opera Fair City from 2006 to 2012.

He began his acting career in 1997, appearing in the television movie Ballyseed. From there, he segued to the miniseries Rebel Heart, the feature film 32A, and the UK crime drama Inspector George Gently. He also appeared in the spy television series Undercovers.

His last credited role was that of “The Captain” in the 2016 thriller Urge (with Pierce Brosnan).

O’Neill died June 6, 2018, in Toluca Lake, California. He was 47.
